Q&A |
Good at Heart01/09/07 In spite of everything that has happened, I still believe that people are really good at heart - Anne Frank 1929-1945 I first heard the story of Anne Frank as a boy in school. The Golden Rule challenges us to put ourselves in another's place and to consider them from that perspective. I confess that I cannot begin to do this with any certainty, except the certainty that I would not do her memory justice. Nor can I make the attempt without shedding copious tears. For her and for those who still suffer and die in oppression. Could I find the generosity of spirit to make the statement that she does? I don't know. to be honest, I doubt I could. I can only hope that her example will encourage us to continue to apply the concept of the Golden Rule and to move ever closer to truly treating each other as ourselves.

I welcome opportunities to speak to groups of all
kinds about the universality of the Golden Rule. |
