Q&A |
Truth Has Many AspectsJanuary 23, 2007 When you meet those whose opinions differ from your own, do not turn away your face from them. All are seeking truth, and there are many roads thereto. Truth has many aspects, but it remains forever one Abdul-Baha (1844-1921), the son of Baha置値lah, the founder of the Baha段 faith This idea, that truth has "many aspects", seems to be so hard for some to accept. We would much rather that the particular perspective that we are comfortable with were the only one that had any validity for anyone. Wouldn't the world be a simpler place if that were the case? Simpler perhaps, but wouldn't we all be a little poorer spiritually if God had only one way to speak with us? Wouldn't we rather have the opportunity to experience more than one aspect of God? Isn't the ability to see God in other ways through other people one way in which we expand our own spiritual lives?

I welcome opportunities to speak to groups of all
kinds about the universality of the Golden Rule. |
