The End of All Our Exploring

March 27, 2007

We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time
    T.S. Eliot

I find something new almost every time I reflect on this quote. To continue to explore means, for me, to be unafraid of finding something new, something that challenges our assumptions and preconceptions about the world or ourselves.

And when we're open to that kind of discovery, we will indeed come back and see our starting point for the first time, through eyes that have been opened just a little more to the wide diversity yet underlying unity of the universe.
