Q&A |
Into PloughsharesApril 3, 2007 They shall beat their swords into ploughshares, What a wonderful image. An end to war. An end to hatred and violence. An end to the exploitation and abuse of one group by another. Will it, as it appears in the passage this comes from, take the direct intervention of God before humanity can learn to live in peace? Or is it possible that we can learn to listen to the voice of the Divine within us, the spark of eternity that joins us one to another without beginning or end? If we hear even the barest whisper of the other in our own souls, it will quickly become impossible to ignore. And we will drown out the noise of conflict with the music of construction.

I welcome opportunities to speak to groups of all
kinds about the universality of the Golden Rule. |
