The Quality of FruitfulnessApril 12, 2007 …although the religions of the world are apples and oranges and are more different than they are alike, still there is a quality of "fruit-fulness" that characterizes them all and out of which a "common ground" for shared conversation can be established - Paul Knitter, dialogue theologian If the doctrines and practices of the world's religions are the "apples and oranges" that Knitter speaks of, then perhaps the Golden Rule is the fertilizer in their common ground. Let’s hope that the universality of this single statement can bear fruit for a new generation.
