Q&A |
The Beginning of WisdomAugust 26, 2007 Kindness is more important than wisdom, and the recognition of this is the beginning of wisdom -Theodore Isaac Rubin, American psychiatrist and author Although the Golden Rule isn't really about kindness, it's certainly true that kindness is often a result of its application. But that wasn't what struck me when I read this quote. What came to mind was how often our process of learning seems to be an almost circular path. It's only on reflection that we can discern the beginning of our journey; only after the journey is underway that we know it has begun at all. May we all resolve to work toward the realization of a Golden Rule World. And may we one day look back, hoping that the journey will soon start, and realize that it is already well underway.

I welcome opportunities to speak to groups of all
kinds about the universality of the Golden Rule. |
